Mt. Kilimanjaro Is Africa's tallest mountain, standing at 5,895 meters. It has three peaks: Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira. Despite its height, climbing it is relatively easy, attracting many hikers. The Great Wildebeast Migration Serengeti The 800 kilometer trek of the immense wildebeest herd is the largest mammal migration on earth. The timing of the migration coincides with greening of nutritious grasses on the short-grass plains during the wet season. These areas are safer because predators can be easily spotted making it an ideal place for calving. Kilimanjaro Rainforest

Start your walk through the rainforest to Mandara hut 2720m.a.s.l. The walk takes 3hrs. Then pay a visit to the Maundi crater for amazing views! Enjoy a picnic lunch along the way. Optional dinner and overnight at Mandara hut, otherwise it is a round trip of 6hrs.

Marangu

Marangu is a large village located on the lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Marangu is a lively market town with a cool climate. The location of the town makes it an ideal starting point for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. Marangu is also an excellent location for hiking, bird watching and taking in the sights of rural Africa. The cultural tourism program offers the opportunity for visitors to watch traditional blacksmiths, visit nearby caves and waterfalls as well as experience life in the local chagga tribe. People around Marangu village are very welcoming and we hope you will enjoy your time with them. While in Marangu one can learn more about the chagga culture by visiting a traditional chagga house made of straw roofing. Also, the traditional food made by bananas and local brew known as Mbege can be tasted.

Mnambe / Materuni Waterfall

A 45-to-60-minute walk brings you to the Materuni Falls, where you will have a picnic lunch at riverside. After lunch you may rest and enjoy the peace and beauty, or your guide will take your group for a walk above the falls, into the Kilimanjaro rainforest, observing more flora and hopefully, some monkeys or other wildlife.

Lake Challa

Lake Chala is a beautiful area located on the western side of Kilimanjaro at the Kenya/Tanzanian border, about 2.5-hour drive from Moshi. The lake is filled and drained by underground streams. Located near the slopes of Kilimanjaro, the lake is amazingly clear with steep crater walls. It is the deepest inland water body in Africa with the depth of about 3km. Due to the enormous depth boating is recommended. Visitors can hike at the lake and enjoy the beautiful view and fresh air. Aside from plenty of fish, monitor lizards, baboons, monkeys and common snakes may be seen by chance.

Arusha National Park

Arusha contains the Momela Lakes, which is the best place to see many of the 400 plus species of birds in the park. Each of the lakes has a slightly different color due to the different types of algae in them. Animals such as zebra, elephants, hyena, hippos, buffalo and warthogs are commonly sighted, but there are no lions or rhinos here due to poaching. Mt. Meru & Kilimanjaro views.

Rundugai Hotsprings

Transfer to Rundugai Masai market (usually on Mondays). From here you start trekking with a guide. Hot lunch at the camp. The trek goes to Chemka Springs, Take a swim in the natural basin of the hot spring. Mt. Kilimanjaro is usually clearly seen from here in the early morning hours. Driving time = 1hr – 1hr 15min. Also explore the hot spring surroundings, like farms etc. Overnight camping option available.
